As always, the Robertsbridge Branch of the Royal British Legion will be leading the Remembrance commemorations for the village. Here is an outline of events:
Armistice Day - Saturday 11th November - 10:45 to 11:15 at the War Memorial, High Street - the 2 minute silence will be observed and there will be a wreath-laying ceremony.
Remembrance Day - Sunday 12th November - Parade to Salehurst Church for Remembrance Service, then afterwards to the War Memorial, for wreath-laying ceremony. Approximate times:
10:00 to 10:15 - Parade assembles at the Recreation Ground car park - form up and leave approx. 10:20 for Church. The Church service starts at 10:50. Following the service, the Parade will return to the village, via Northbridge Street, Clappers, High Street to the War Memorial for a wreath-laying ceremony at approximately 12:00, including 1 minute silence.
There will be road closures in place during the parades and wreath-laying. There will be traffic lights to allow the Parade to safely cross the A21 at the roundabout. All delays will be kept to the minimum necessary.
A reminder please to avoid parking near the War Memorial on both days. And that the Bonfire Society will be marking the start and end of of the 2 minute silence on Saturday (11:00), and 1 minute silence on Sunday (approx. 12:10) with a maroon (very loud bang!).
