Draft Rother Local Plan 2020-2040 – Public Consultation – 30th April 2024 to 23rd July 2024
7th May 2024

A 12 weeks public consultation is running from 5pm on 30th April to 5pm on 23rd July 2024 on the draft new Local Plan which will guide development and land use in our district over the period 2020 - 2040. Any comments made at this stage will be important in shaping the Local Plan as it is further developed into the Proposed Submission Plan next year, before the final version is submitted to the Planning Inspectorate for independent examination and adoption by the Council. When adopted, the Plan's policies will be used to determine planning applications throughout Rother district.

The Draft Local Plan and its supporting evidence base documents can be found on the Draft Local Plan webpage on the Council's website here https://www.rother.gov.uk/planning-and-building-control/planning-policy/emerging-local-plan/local-plan-review/. The easiest way to make comments on the Local Plan, and its key supporting documents, is through the consultation webpage. Alternatively comments can be sent by email or post using the consultation form, which can be found on our website. The webpage also explains where hard copies of the Draft Local Plan can be viewed and where public exhibitions around the district will be held.

We have invited Rother Planning Department to give a brief presentation at the start of our next Full Council meeting on Monday 20th May, 7.30 pm at Robertsbridge Village Hall. All residents are invited to attend and ask questions. This plan will guide local development until 2040. There will be another opportunity to see the plan at a public exhibition to be held at Robertsbridge Village Hall on Thursday 4th July 3-7pm
